When you make a referral, you involve the whole family.
At Caron, we believe “the patient is the family and the family is the patient,” meaning we strongly encourage—and sometimes require— patients’ family members to participate in Family Support and Treatment from admittance to aftercare.
Applying for admission.
Once you make a referral, your patient or his family members may apply to Caron’s programs any of the following ways:
- Contact your local Regional Resource Directors/Addiction Resource Specialist
- Call Caron directly at 800-854-6023 (Pennsylvania) or 800-221-6500 (Florida) to speak with an Admission/Case Specialist
- Complete the online addiction treatment admissions inquiry form to be contacted by a Caron Admission/Case Specialist.
- Access our live chat feature, located on the top right corner of your screen, to speak with an admissions specialist
The assessment process.
We assess all potential patients to ensure that a Caron program can provide the appropriate level of treatment. During this process, we ask that you report your clinical insights, identified co-occurring disorders, recent hospitalizations, medical conditions and/or suicide attempts or ideations. Patient records, discharge summaries and written documentation from a treating professional may be required during this process.
In the event Caron is not able to provide the appropriate addiction treatment services for your patient, our admissions department or Regional Resource Directors will provide alternative treatment resources or referrals.
If you or your patient's family members need resources for a behavioral health or drug and alcohol intervention, please call the Admissions Department at 800-854-6023 (Pennsylvania) or 800-221-6500 (Florida), or contact your local Regional Resource Director.
Your role in the treatment process.
As a hard working, qualified referring professional, we consider you a valuable member of the Caron clinical team. You will be alerted when your patient has been admitted; called weekly by his or her addiction counselor; and will be part of discussions as they relate to your patient's progress in treatment and recommendations for the next level of care.
We also provide a Referral Satisfaction Survey following your patient's discharge, which allows you to share your feedback on Caron's programs and your experience working with us. Our local Regional Resource Directors are always available to facilitate communication between you and our clinical staff.
