Yasmin Sorte is the Senior Director of Development and Community Relations for Caron of Florida. She has worked in the alumni department since 2010, assisting in such events as the New York Save a Life Gala and has developed programs for alumni and family outreach. During her career in the Alumni department she has developed programs such as the Family Buddy, the Aftercare program, Caron Renaissance Alumni Association, the Family Voice newsletter and the Gratitude Weekend reunion.
Yasmin interned at a community psychiatric facility at which she obtained a donation of 160 tempur-pedic mattresses to replace worn and outdated mattress pads in the facility. With that initiative she was honored with a “South County Mental Health Center Friend of the Year” award. Her passion lies in being an advocate and a support for individuals and their families who struggle with mental health and substance abuse related issues.
She received her Bachelor degree in Communications and French from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Master degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University.
