Dr. Robert Margolis is the Founder Emeritus of Caron Solutions. He founded Caron Solutions, formerly Solutions Atlanta, in 1998 in Roswell, Georgia and grew the organization to be Atlanta’s leading provider of outpatient rehab for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Dr. Margolis’s lifelong work in the addiction treatment field continues as he acts as a thought leader, advocate, consultant, and advisor to the team of licensed therapists at Caron Solutions. Dr. Margolis has written more than 15 articles and several book chapters on topics related to addiction treatment and advocacy issues. In 2011, Dr. Margolis published the second edition of Treating Patients with Alcohol and Other Drug Dependence: An Integrated Approach. He has also appeared in numerous television documentaries on alcohol and drug abuse.
Dr. Margolis has been a licensed clinical psychologist in Georgia since 1979, focusing his work on adolescent drug abuse treatment. Before 1979, he was the Director of Psychological Services at Ridgeview Institute for 13 years in addition to carrying a full client schedule of adolescents and families. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his masters and doctorate in clinical psychology from Georgia State University. He holds the American Psychological Association College Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders. He is a fellow at the Georgia Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.
