As Chief Operating Officer, Lisa Marsilio oversees Caron’s Executive Team. She provides day-to-day leadership and management for all operational areas to ensure the effectiveness and delivery of clinical care and support services, which includes Caron’s inpatient, outpatient, prevention and recovery support programs. Ms. Marsilio also oversees strategic planning and related implementation efforts; leads the development, implementation and oversight of new service lines; spearheads the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes; and evaluates potential acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships and leads the associated due diligence process. In addition, she ensures business modeling is in place for any new Caron product, service or program, and profitability per program is meeting or exceeding goals, including contractual relationships and partnerships.
Prior to joining Caron, Ms. Marsilio was divisional CEO/Executive Director for a post-acute care network that was created to serve The University of Pennsylvania Health System, one of the world’s leading academic medical centers. In this role, she led over 750 employees, two post-acute hospitals, 14 outpatient locations as well as all therapy operations for UPHS hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. From 2008-2012,Ms. Marsilio served as the Vice President of The Cardiopulmonary Complex Medical service line and Administrator of the Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Under her leadership, volume grew year over year as services were enhanced to support the needs of Lehigh Valley Hospital & Health Network and fellow hospital systems. Ms. Marsilio has also held positions at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network as the Director of Special Projects, Administrator of Rehabilitation Hospital and Director of Physician and Community Education.
Ms. Marsilio earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from Muhlenberg College and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from DeSales University. She served on the Advisory Board for The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College as well as Adjunct faculty member teaching Healthcare Compliance and The Healthcare Delivery System. Lisa was recently appointed to The American Hospital Association as a Healthcare Council member serving a three-year term for the Division of Rehabilitation and Post-Acute Care Services, as well as appointed to the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation.
