As the clinical director for Caron Atlanta, Leanne Jamison engages with individuals and families throughout their recovery journey through evaluations for services, individual and couples’ therapy, and family support and education groups. She has trained staff on dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness approaches specifically for individuals in recovery. She also works to provide ongoing collaboration and education for employees, the community, students, and other professionals in this field.
She recently assisted with developing a residential program for adults in need of detox and residential levels of care in the North Georgia Mountains. That initiative included working with the state of Georgia and the Joint Commission to ensure the best standard of treatment for all patients, as well as meeting with senators and business owners in order to collaborate and give back to the community. She also created alliances with local universities for ongoing training, lectures, and internship opportunities for the clinical students.
Leanne is passionate about her work with individuals and families in the recovery process, as well as the continued support, education, and supervision of professionals in this field. Her greatest desire in working at Caron is to provide a safe space for individuals and families to begin their journey of recovery.
She has been working in the addiction and recovery field since she graduated from Georgia State University in 2006, providing this population with individual, family, and group therapy.
She is intensively trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and is a certified professional counselor supervisor. She has presented on mindfulness in recovery to leading professionals at various conferences.
