Kathy is the Clinical Supervisor for the Healthcare Professionals Program at Caron. She graduated magna cum laude from Immaculata University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds a Master of Arts degree from Immaculata in Psychology Counseling. She also holds a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Kathy has been with Caron since 2012 and joined the Healthcare Professionals Program in 2015.
Kathy is responsible for the management and coordination of treatment for all healthcare professional patients. This specific professionals hold safety sensitive positions, which may bring different challenges relative to licensing and occupational consequences. While in early recovery, Kathy assists Caron’s healthcare patients in navigating through these specific struggles.
Kathy’s area of focus has been helping healthcare patients gain insight around their addiction, trauma-related and behavioral issues. Kathy effectively utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and is a clinician on Caron’s Trauma Team. Kathy has Provider Status in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a trauma-focused psychotherapy, which demonstrates efficacy and provides empirical evidence when treating Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
