Alexandra Santoro, Psy.D. is a Caron staff psychologist licensed in Pennsylvania. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and her Master of Science in counseling from Villanova University. Dr. Santoro’s training in therapy and assessment took place within inpatient psychiatric hospitals and outpatient clinics in the Philadelphia area. Her theoretical orientation is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Dr. Santoro came to Caron as a postdoctoral fellow in 2018 and was hired as a staff psychologist following the completion of the fellowship. She is involved with Caron’s trauma services and provides cognitive processing therapy (CPT).
Dr. Santoro has experience working with individuals across the lifespan who are struggling with a broad range of mental health concerns, including psychosis, mood instability, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. She also has experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has strong interests in trauma-informed care and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
