Parent & Family Support Groups
Caron offers Parent and Family Support Groups for those with children of all ages who are currently in or have completed treatment at a Caron Treatment Center facility. The group is also open to parents and families who are concerned about their children’s alcohol and/or drug use.
These support groups are designed to give parents and families a safe place to find support, comfort and encouragement in their own communities.
By sharing with other parents and families of addicts who are going through similar experiences, they learn new ways to deal with the chaos, confusion and dysfunction that have occurred in the family unit. It also gives them a place to share their fears and hopes while learning new tools to set healthy boundaries and get the family unit back on track. The support groups are designed to provide support and encouragement.
Caron’s Parent and Family Support Groups are held in various locations along the East Coast with new groups forming all the time. All groups are free of charge.
If you need immediate support and would like to talk to a parent whose child has gone through a Caron treatment program, please email JHoner@caron.org to connect with a parent who has “been there” and can privately discuss many of your concerns about your loved one and your family.
