About "DC Cupcakes" on TLC
After risking their life savings and trading their careers in fashion and venture capital to pursue their passion for baking, Sophie and Katherine set out to follow their lifelong dream of opening a bakery. Armed with their grandmother’s recipes and the support of their family, the sisters opened Georgetown Cupcake on Valentine's Day 2008. To their surprise, the shop became an overnight sensation and now has a cult-following of locals, tourists and celebrities, selling as many as 10,000 cupcakes a day.
