Relapse Program

At Caron we treat the whole individual - mentally, physically and spiritually. All of Caron’s programs are staffed by full-time professionals to ensure each patient receives an individualized treatment team, consisting of no less than a psychologist, addiction counselor, medical staff and pastoral care counselors.
Patients partake in individual and group therapy, therapeutic activities, daily lectures and continue care planning. With this structure, each and every individual who comes to Caron for treatment is given the tools to help form a solid foundation for a life of recovery.
Because chemical dependency is a chronic disease, the potential for relapse exists. As a pioneer in relapse treatment, Caron offers a specialized residential relapse program for adults to address and explore relapse patterns and develop strategies and interventions to disrupt and eliminate these patterns.
Relapse treatment should not be confused with relapse prevention work, which is a common component of many primary treatment facilities. Caron's Relapse Program structure incorporates the latest research findings into Caron's innovative evidence-based, 12-Step treatment model. The program de-emphasizes lecture-focused learning and provides a whole person assessment, a customized treatment plan, and unified support with the assistance of family and referents.
The Relapse Program offers specialized groups that focus on the main causes of relapse:
- Family history
- Early onset
- Severe post-acute withdrawal
- Mental health issues
- Other compulsive behaviors
- Chronic pain
The program also focuses on the critical components that relapse patients require:
- Individualized treatment goals and practices
- Evaluation of each individuals 12-step efforts
- The renewal of one’s spirit
- Personal accountability
- Skill development
- Spiritual connection and practice
- Family involvement
