Programs & Services : Young Male Adult Program

Residential Treatment

Caron's Young Male Adult Program is based on the 12-Step philosophy. The treatment program utilizes many modalities to meet the individual needs of the patient. Through assessments, therapy, education and peer support groups, patients receive a wide range of services to address core issues of chemical dependency and to increase their motivation for continuing care.

Caron's first and foremost goal is to teach young men that addiction is a disease. They also learn that behavior change is possible by giving them the skills, the environment and the support to make those changes, which will support their growth, development and recovery.

Often, this population does not see a need for change. They have a tendency to look for their differences rather than their similarities, and like non-dependency young adults, hold the belief that nothing bad will happen to them even in high-risk situations.

Each young man needs to feel understood. This is accomplished through relationships with both peers and staff in a consistent, structured manner. During a typical one-month stay, young men will participate in specialized programming, which includes:

  • Psycho-educational lectures
  • Group therapy
  • Community activities/building
  • Adventure-based programming
  • Family Education Program
