Spirituality
Caron embraces the 12-Step program of recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction. The 12-Step program promotes spiritual development that integrates the individual's body, mind and soul. Such integration allows the recovering person to regain their dignity and form creative, life-giving, intimate relationships with self, others, the universe and God.
Spirituality takes on a unique and special mission at Caron. The nondenominational Sunday chapel service combines the best elements from recovery fellowships with liturgical principles to produce a multi-denominational experience of caring and sharing. The Sunday service is held in Caron's Chit Chat Auditorium. Patients are not required to attend the chapel service, but most patients want to attend. This service is open to the public and families of the patients. Patients who request Sabbath services on Friday can be accommodated, along with individual counseling with rabbis. In addition, Caron provides spiritual and pastoral counseling by credentialed clergy.
