Psychological Services
Early in the treatment stay, a licensed psychologist provides the adolescent with a comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluation. The bio-psychosocial evaluation is used to gather information regarding substance abuse, mental health, education, family and other major life areas. The information gathered is incorporated into the treatment plan, allowing adolescents to receive assistance according to their individual needs.
A psychologist meets weekly with the counseling staff to provide recommendations in treatment planning. Such recommendations may include a referral to the consulting psychiatrist for medication evaluation, psychological testing and discharge planning. When appropriate, a psychologist meets with an adolescent on an individual basis and may also interface with family members.
