Spirituality has been an integral part of Caron’s treatment program since its founding nearly 60 years ago and remains an important part of a patient’s individualized treatment plan.  Caron Pennsylvania’s patients and their families represent diverse spiritual and religious backgrounds.  Spiritual care staff members at Caron PA are trained to address the needs of all faiths and are respectful of all religious and spiritual beliefs.

Spirituality is a core component of a 12-Step program of recovery.  The spiritual care staff at Caron Pennsylvania work within each patient’s integrated treatment team to facilitate repair, renewal, and new development in the individual and their family system.   Integrating spiritual care into the treatment process enables patients to manage grief; regain dignity; and form creative, life giving, intimate relationships with themselves, others, the universe, and a Higher Power.  The spiritual care staff combines lecture, group, and individual services to assist patients and their families in healing spiritual wounds and moving forward in recovery.
