How Alumni Can Help

Staying connected to recovery is key to achieving long-term sobriety. When you reach out to help, you enhance your connection to your recovery and make recovery more manageable for those currently in programs.

Ways Alumni Can Help:

  1. Attend and give service to regional Alumni, Friends and Fellowship Chapter Groups.
  2. Attend Caron alumni events and workshops - bring a friend!
  3. Make a donation and share the gift of recovery with others.
  4. Send a letter or email of gratitude.
  5. Submit an article or personal story for the Alumni Chatter to bmcdonough@caron.org. Take some time to write a personal story highlighting gratitude, spirituality, experience, strength and hope. You should also consider other types of expression such as poetry, sketches or photos.
  6. Volunteer to help at special events and activities that Caron hosts.
  7. Refer friends, family members and co-workers to Caron programs.
  8. Join the Chit Chat Society and consider putting Caron in your will.
  9. Be an advocate for recovery. Volunteer to speak at Caron events or campaigning for recovery projects in your neighborhood and nationally.
  10. Become an Alumni Contact for new Caron graduates (one year sobriety required).
  11. Share your recovery story with individuals currently in Caron treatment programs (one year sobriety required).

Today is the day to pick one of the ways to help and make a difference in someone's life - as well as your own.
