For Families of Young Adults
Caron believes it is imperative to engage an individual’s family from the onset of treatment. We put a major emphasis on treating the family as part of the treatment and recovery process.
Family involvement is a critical component of Caron’s Young Adult Treatment Programs because the entire family has been impacted by the disease of addiction. Since Caron believes the family is such an integral part of addiction treatment, it is a mandatory requirement for the young adult programs. Parents or guardians must commit to the program prior to admission for their loved one taking place. The program runs consecutive days, Saturday to Wednesday.
The Young Adult Family Programs:
- Promote family healing
- Help families and patients understand the emotional consequences and the family impact that has taken place as a result of chemical dependency.
In addition, Caron places a strong emphasis on:
- Educating family members about addiction
- The recovery process
- The impact addiction has on the family and how families get well
Family treatment helps families and patients understand the emotional consequences of addiction, the recovery process, the impact of addiction on the family and how families get well.
The Family Component in Extended Care
The family component in extended care consists of weekly sessions with the individual’s addiction counselor, and once a month a full-day of multi-family group sessions. Family treatment helps the families and patients understand the emotional consequences and the impact addiction has placed upon the family system.
