Adult Assessment Program

Caron's Adult Assessment Program is typically a 5-10 day residential assessment program for adults 26 years old and older which can help to identify a potential problem.

The assessment provides the individual, their family and quite possibly their doctor with an opportunity to evaluate a suspected addiction while still in its early stages.

In addition to a history and physical, and biopsychosocial assessment, the Adult Assessment Program may provide the following testing based upon clinical need:
  • Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-III
  • Personality Assessment Inventory
  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test-II
  • Wechsler Memory Scale-III
  • Bender II
  • Wisconsin Card Sort
  • Trails
  • Finger Tap
  • Peg Board
  • Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System
  • TPT
  • Psychiatric Evaluation and/or Consultation

(these tests will be utilized based on each patient's individual needs; not all patients will be given each test)

In addition, Caron professionals will collect and evaluate collateral information about the patient including information from their medical and psychological providers when appropriate.

At the end of the assessment, Caron professionals will meet with the patient, as well as other providers (when necessary), such as interventionsists, psychologists, etc. to review a verbal summary report and recommendations specific to each individual.
