Admitting a Patient
The admissions process at Caron is initiated by completing our online admissions inquiry form or with a phone call to 800-854-6023 and a Caron Admissions Specialist begins obtaining a clinical history. After the Admissions Specialist has compiled the necessary information, we will work with the patient and family to determine an admission date.
Our Screening Process:
Patients with co-occurring disorders, recent hospitalizations, medical conditions/problems and/or suicide attempts will be screened by a medical team and psychologist to see if they are appropriate for treatment.
*Please note: For these screenings, patient records, discharge summaries and written documentation from a treating professional may be required. In the event Caron is not able to provide the appropriate services for your patient, our Admissions department will provide alternative treatment referrals.
Interventionists: If you are planning an intervention, please call the Admissions Department at 800-678-2332 as soon as you have an intervention date. To reserve a bed, please have family members call the Admissions Department to begin the admissions process.
Patient Evaluation
Patients are appropriate for Caron if:
- They have a diagnosis or history of alcohol and/or drug dependency as a primary issue,
- Are ambulatory,
- Are 13 years of age or older.
*Please note: Caron is not an acute care facility; therefore, stabilization is required prior to admission for individuals who are suffering from significant medical and psychological issues.
